How to Effectively Build a Content Marketing Strategy?

I believe there are multiple ways to creatively implement marketing strategies for any business out there. In fact, there is no clear cut right or wrong.

But, we can have a model with which we can work around and build a custom content strategy for our business. And that’s exactly what I’m going to talk about today.

The whole approach of any successful marketing campaign is to connect with our ideal target audience and probably trigger an action from their end.

And there are certain ways we can do that.

There are 3 angles on which we can base our content to achieve this goal:

Our content has to be relevant to our target audience, and current events come across that spectrum. People are interested in the current events – it can be sports, art, politics, music,…

There are always events and new trends happening across the world. All we have to do is to tag our brand to the event and create content around that.

All we have to do is to create content that connects our brand and the current events.

Put your perspective into the content of the event that’s happening.

This makes sure that we’re providing value to our audience in some way but also keeping our brand in the process.

  1. Create evergreen content

We can find interesting evergreen content across any industry that our business is part of.

All we have to do is a quick google search and we’ll find them. Now, since this is our niche, we can find an interesting take on these events and portray them in a way that’s relevant today.

We can sift through the history and find the all-time relevant content and use it for the content we create.

It can be comparisons between situations back then and now, what changed, what are the positives, inspirations,…

  1. New trends and development in the field

Now, this is a great way of educating our target audience and keeping them updated with the latest info – this can probably make them look cool in their network as well. There can be a million things happening in your industry and who else is the better guy to know that and teach them to your target audience than you.

Creating content around new developments in the industry is a great way to educate the users who are somehow interested in this niche.

Now, an e-commerce platform, fanatics.com, has applied this approach and got a 1,100% increase in organic search engine traffic along with a 230% increase in the number of ranking keywords on their website.

The company’s content marketing efforts also enabled it to publish high-profile features on popular sites such as Yahoo Sports, The Score, and USA Today.

The main concern of many businesses out there is to find ideas to create content around. Everyone knows content marketing is a superb way to connect to your users without being pushy all the time. And this can be done easily if you model the above structure.

Now, your content will be unique as it is just a perspective of how you look at the events – evergreen, current events, or new developments.
